When you register for a class, you agree to these terms.
Labor Leadership Academy and Labor Law Series
Full Series
Cancellation
If you are unable to attend the entire certificate series, cancellations made at least 10 days before the series starts will receive a full refund. Late cancellations (less than 10 business days’ notice) and no-shows are not eligible for a refund. Notify us at illinoislabored@illinois.edu as soon as possible if you are canceling. Credit card payments will be credited back as soon as possible. Payments made by check or money order will take 30 to 60 days to process.
Absences
See below.
Individual Classes
Cancellation/Absence
If you are enrolled in the full series and miss an individual Labor Leadership or Labor Law class, you may make the class up next semester at no additional charge. If you know in advance that you’re going to miss a class, notify us at illinoislabored@illinois.edu as soon as you can.
If you are not enrolled in the full series but are taking and have paid for individual classes, you may cancel a class and receive a refund if you provide 48 hours’ advance notice. Late cancellations and no-shows are not eligible for a refund.
Credit card payments will be credited back as soon as possible. Payments made by check or money order will take 30 to 60 days to process.
Group Rate Cancellations
If a group rate discount has been applied to a series or an individual class, and absence will cause group enrollment to drop below 5 students, prices will revert to the non-discounted rate of $150 per person per class, and the union will be responsible for any additional fees.
Conferences
Conference Cancellation/Absence Policy
For the IBEW Arbitration Institute and the Illinois American Postal Workers Union conferences: due to limited space and the time, labor, & materials required to prepare for each student, we request that you cancel at least 10 business days before a scheduled conference.
Cancellations made 10 business days or more in advance of the event date will receive a full refund. Late cancellations (less than 10 business days’ notice) and no-shows are not eligible for a refund.
Transferring Registration
If you are unable to attend a conference, you may transfer your spot to another student up to 48 hours (weekends excepted) before the start of the class/training. You must notify us of the transfer by emailing illinoislabored@illinois.edu.
Cancellations & rescheduling by the Labor Education Program (LEP)
If a class is rescheduled or canceled by LEP due to low enrollment, inclement weather, illness, or any other emergency, LEP will notify the student or union as quickly as possible. If a make-up class is scheduled, the student is expected to attend. If they’re unable to attend, they may request a ‘credit’ to be used for a future class session.
