JOB QUALITY IN ILLINOIS | DISPARITIES BY GENDER, RACE, AND EDUCATION May 2, 2025 “A new report, Job Quality in Illinois: Disparities by Gender, Race and Education from the University of Illinois’ Project for Middle Class Renewal reveals considerable disparities in accessing high quality jobs across Illinois, especially by gender and race/ethnicity. Drawing on recent, original survey data from over 5,000 people employed in Illinois, PMCR researchers created 10 dimensions, each with 3 key components that indicate job quality. From 21 occupation types in the survey, they grouped them into 5 categories, from “high” down to “low” quality jobs.”
