Labor & Employment Law
Join us for an online version of the Labor Leadership Academy Labor & Employment Law. This is a pilot program and will count towards your Labor Leadership Academy certificate.
The class covers the limits of U.S. employment laws, labor law for union organizing, strikes, work-to-rule, contract campaigns, the legal rights of union stewards, and the legal rights of union members.

Steward Training
Join us for an online version of the Labor Leadership Academy Steward Training class. This is a pilot program and will count towards your Labor Leadership Academy certificate.
How to investigate, screen, write, and negotiate a grievance; the seven principles of just cause; and the law. The class analyzes three case studies.

Collective Bargaining
Join us for an online version of the Labor Leadership Academy Collective Bargaining class. This is a pilot program and will count towards your Labor Leadership Academy certificate.
The class addresses the legal obligations to bargain, mandatory and permissible subjects of bargaining, types of bargaining relationships, styles of bargaining, analyzing proposals, costing out a contract, developing a bargaining proposal, practicing good table behavior, negotiating skills, and more.

History & Power of Labor
Join us for an online version of the Labor Leadership Academy History & Power of Labor. This is a pilot program and will count towards your Labor Leadership Academy certificate.
What does the U.S. history look like when viewed from the point of view of those who built the country? The class reviews working class and labor history since the Civil War including major labor conflicts and lessons learned.

Internal Organizing
Join us for an online version of the Labor Leadership Academy Internal Organizing class. This is a pilot program and will count towards your Labor Leadership Academy certificate.
The class discusses ways to educate, organize, and mobilize the members such as collective action around grievances, confronting and overcoming divisions, one-on-one conversations with uninvolved members, contract campaigns, and building public solidarity through bargaining for the common good.

Media Matters
Join us for an online version of the Labor Leadership Academy Media Matters class. This is a pilot program and will count towards your Labor Leadership Academy certificate.
The class will provide interactive instruction on building an effective union media strategy. Topics include building your message, writing a press release, writing letters to the editor, how to talk to the press, and creative and impactful social media strategies.

The Economics of Work
Join us for an online version of the Labor Leadership Academy the Economics of Work class. This is a pilot program and will count towards your Labor Leadership Academy certificate.
This class gives you the information you need to effectively enter economic debates straight out of the headlines, such as over the minimum wage, inflation, Social Security and pensions, income inequality, the gig economy, and health care.
