Nadja Robot (she/her) has been with the Labor Education Program since 2021. In her role as assistant director, she coordinates LEP’s summer programs which serve approximately 400 union members every year.
Before coming to LEP Nadja worked as an office manager at La Casa Cultural Latina, the Latinx cultural house on campus for nearly a decade. Throughout this time, she proudly served multiple terms as president of her union, AFSCME Local 3700. During her time as president, and with the hard work of the membership, Nadja was able to negotiate a wage-increase program back into the contract. This yearly increase had been frozen for 5 years, and the reinstatement brought some upward mobility back to the 1000+ members of the Local.
Originally from California, Nadja now lives in Urbana with her three cats. Nadja attended California College of the Arts to study photography but only recently completed her BA through Eastern Illinois University. She enjoys being involved in her community, gardening, crafting, dancing, and board games.
