“It can certainly be helpful in moving the bargaining forward,” said Robert Bruno, a labor professor at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign about Biden’s visit this week. “I would imagine that there will be full support for the auto workers, but there’ll be enough in what the president has to say, that it’ll be clear how both parties have to stay at the bargaining table, have to look for common ground.”
