The intensive, four-day residential conference is made possible through the generosity of the Regina V. Polk Fund for Labor Leadership. The conference was established in 1983 in memory of Regina V. Polk, who was killed in an accident on the job while working as a business agent for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) Local 743. She was a tireless advocate of inequities in the workplace and committed to worker empowerment. By sponsoring this conference, the fund furthers one of her favorite causes, educating the next generation of labor leaders.
